The story of the Moran Family Foundation starts with a couple, Harold and Gail Moran, who rolled into the small Texas town of Corsicana on a set of tires bought on store credit, with a dream to start a little furniture company.

Decades of hard work and a lot of faith brought success beyond what they ever dreamed. But Gail Moran was committed to not letting money change her. Many successful people turn their attention to charity after they make their fortunes and find themselves wondering what to do with it. Not so with Gail. Early on in their life in Corsicana, she felt strongly and convinced Harold that they should start tithing to the church, even though they didn't have much to spare at that time.  She did not see generosity as a luxury of the wealthy; it was a basic responsibility and privilege.

As the business grew, Gail developed what she likes to call her 'super power', which was seeing needs that could be helped by a well-timed act of thoughtful generosity. Over the years, by God's grace, the business grew, which meant more opportunities to give. Always on the lookout for needs, she made it her practice every year to choose some person or cause that could really make something out of a well-timed and thoughtfully sized gift.

In 2006, with Corsicana Bedding fully established and thriving under the leadership of her son Carroll, Gail decided to devote more of her energies to that favorite pastime of hers: giving. Thus, the Moran Family Foundation was established. After the successful sale of the company in 2014, she was able to fully fund the foundation. This meant the creation of the enduring entity it is today, where Gail and her grandchildren continue to practice the joyful discipline of generosity, Moran family style.
